If you place an order that contains high-value items, it may require certified delivery. Certified deliveries require you to either sign for the delivery or have your ID scanned to certify that you have received the order. If you order something that requires a certified delivery, you’ll be notified when you place the order and again at the time of delivery.
Certified delivery details—
- You must be present for the delivery and sign when prompted by your Instacart app.
- If you’re unable to sign on your device, the shopper can scan your ID. If the shopper can’t scan your ID or manually input ID information, they must return the items. Contact Instacart Customer Experience for any questions.
- High-value items vary by retailer and are subject to change.
If you cannot be present for a delivery for any reason, you will need to complete your purchase at a later date when you can be there to sign for the item(s). Failure to do so will result in cancellation of your order and a $15 late cancellation fee.
